about

This is the very first recorded music by my then teenage rock band, Laymans Terms. There is is only one physical copy left of this left in existence...or so I've been told. Guess who has it? And now for the first time since the inception of the digital music revolution, you can as well!

Imagine waking up the day after Christmas, you're 17, and today you get to head into the studio for the first time. You've practiced these songs over and over for months, and because you have no idea how to make a record, you plan on recording and finishing 8 songs in one day; mixed, mastered, EVERYTHING.

This album is what it sounds like when you try to do just that; imperfect, filled with adrenaline, littered with blind self-confidence, and tons of mistakes.

But...mistakes like this need to be made to get to the next step, and after being greeted at 10:00 am by a producer wearing nothing but KISS boxer shorts and a bright red mullet, we left that night at midnight with what you hear here.

Sounds like what it's supposed to sound like...your first time.
